BROWS (COSMETIC TATTOOING)
Rather than using traditional tattoo ink, permanent makeup uses thicker, less concentrated pigments. There are two main methods of permanent eyebrow makeup: micropigmentation (typically done with a machine) and micro-blading (applied with a manual hand tool). We do NOT perform micro-blading, nor do we recommend it due to the scar tissue it will cause to your skin. Below is our permanent makeup cost list:

3D HAIRSTROKES $575
IF DONE BY OWNER $775
3D Hair Strokes is done using a machine technique designed to resemble realistic eyebrow hair. You would want this permanent makeup option if you have little to no natural eyebrow hair.

OMBRE POWDER BROW $675
IF DONE BY OWENER $875
Ombre is a permanent powdered brow technique for clients who prefer fuller results than hair strokes, but still want them to appear very soft. This look resembles traditional makeup done with an eyebrow pencil or eyebrow shadow.

COMBO BROW $875
IF DONE BY OWENER $1100
The “Combo” is a combination of a machine shading and 3D hair stroke technique. This technique is perfect for clients who like the look of a soft penciled or powdered eyebrow or for clients wanting a more defined look throughout their eyebrows.
EYES (PERMANENT EYELINER)
We specialize in very natural looking permanent eyeliner, so we only perform certain types. The procedure takes about 1.5 hours. We at Permanent Makeup in Maine refuse to (and we strongly advise against) PMU cat eye liner, PMU colored liner, and even black liner on lighter skin tones/skin color. Brown with a drop of black is usually a more flattering fit. If you do find a specialist who will give you PMU cat-eye liner, expect it to droop and crack in appearance as you age. You’re better off avoiding it.

LASH ENHANCEMENT LINER $500
IF DONE BY OWNER $700
Known as lash enhancement liner or invisible eyeliner, this type of permanent pigmentation involves tattooing an ultra-thin black line along the lash line to create the illusion of fuller, darker lashes—much like tightlining does—for a natural, eye-opening effect.
***Price includes top & bottom. For JUST top OR bottom, price is $500.

SMUDGE LINER $750
IF DONE BY OWNER $950
This particular permanent eyeliner gives a more dramatic look resembling regular makeup. One of the most common PMU procedures done at Permanent Makeup In Maine because everyone loves it!
***Price includes top & bottom. For JUST top OR bottom, price is $700
LIPS (PERMANENT LIP MAKEUP)
Permanent Makeup tattoo lip procedures enhance or correct your lips, but because our spa uses all-natural, organic vegetable dye pigments it typically lasts no longer than two years. Click the picture to find out more about that particular service.

LIP LINER $550
IF DONE BY OWNER $750
Lip Liner is a natural-appearing permanent cosmetic procedure that can be applied to give more definition and correct uneven lips, which will result in a fuller appearance. This also helps prevent lipstick from bleeding and can minimize the appearance of wrinkles.

MATTE LIPSTICK $800
IF DONE BY OWNER $1200
Matte Lipstick gives the lips a full coverage effect from the lip contour to the inner lips. The pigment is even from the contour to the inner lips. We have a variety of colors to choose from.

LIP BLUSH / LIP GLOSS $1200
IF DONE BY OWNER $1600
Lip Blushing / Lip Gloss is a new permanent treatment that enhances the natural shape of your lips, giving them that boost, symmetry and color. Lip Blush gives your lips 30% more volume that will last, unlike fillers.

OMBRE LIP $1000
IF DONE BT OWNER $1200
Ombre will give a faded shading effect from the lip contour to the inner lips. The pigment is darkest at the edge of the lip line and the lightest in the middle. It has a gradual fade effect.

COLOR CORRECTION $450
Color Correction is for lips that are different colors. We can do just the color correction, or it can be an add-on before we do a Lip Blush, Matte, or Ombre Lip for $450. ***You may need 2-3 sessions of correction before color is applied, at that point it would be $450 per correction session before the Lip Blush, Ombre or Matte can be placed.
MEDICAL / PARAMEDICAL MICROPIGMENTATION

3D AREOLAS $1500
3D Areola Tattooing (Nipple Tattooing, Areola restoration etc) is a 3D tattoo procedure to replicate the areola and nipple. This technique is for anyone who may have had total loss, irregularity, or inconsistency in their areola and nipples after any type of breast reconstructive surgery.

SMP $1000+
Scalp Micropigmentation (also known as SMP) is a non-invasive treatment that uses detailed micro-needles to deposit pigment into the scalp. The result creates the appearance of tiny hair follicles that help thicken and restore the look of fuller hair. If you are starting to thin, recede, or if you are completely bald, we can give you the look of a short buzz cut.
When administered by a trained and licensed professional, the Scalp Micropigmentation treatment can restore receded hairlines, thicken remaining hair, camouflage transplant scarring, and create the look of close-cropped hair. This service starts at $800 (and can go up to $4000) depending how much Micropigmentation needs to be done.

SCAR CAMOUFLAGE $800+
Skin or Scar Camouflage is tattooing of the skin with different colors of flesh tone pigments. Its purpose is to disguise a scar or skin area that is missing pigment or color. Using techniques similar to permanent makeup, scar camouflage tattoos can camouflage the appearance of scarring, stretch marks, and more. This service starts at $600 (and can go up to $6000) depending how much Micropigmentation needs to be done.
OTHER MICROPIGMENTATION SERVICES

BEAUTY MARKS $300
Beauty Marks are a popular form of permanent makeup. It involves inserting small amounts of pigment into the top layer of skin where the cells rejuvenate, which is why the makeup fades over time and it’s recommended having a touching up every 2 years. We do Beauty Marks for $300, each additional one would be $100.

FRECKLES $600
The stigma against freckles has disappeared. With them being celebrated in fashion editorials and on celebrities, the sun-kissed spots are now considered beautiful. And for those without the natural marks, you can get them done here very easily.

Permanent Makeup Faqs

WHAT IS MICROBLADING?
Microblading is NOT recommended by anyone here at Permanent Makeup in Maine. Microblading is unlike other permanent makeup in the way that it uses a hand tool with 12 tiny pins on it, resembling a razor blade. Essentially it creates tiny little paper-cuts with pigment deposited into each one. It’s terrible for your skin and will result in serious scarring, which becomes more noticeable after the pigment has completely faded out. After 1-3 sessions it will start to become visible and you will start to hate your Brows. The owner, Ashley Beaulieu, is VERY passionate about her Permanent Makeup procedures and will educate you on the difference between Microblading and Permanent Makeup. Please do your diligent research when it comes to your face!
DOES IT HURT?
We use three different types of topical anesthetics to help alleviate any discomfort. Having this service performed during your menstrual cycle may increase discomfort during your procedure.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO HEAL?
PMU Eyeliner will take 10-14 days to heal. During that time frame, it is encouraged you to let them naturally exfoliate off. DO NOT PICK AT YOUR EYELINER! You would also be encouraged to keep them out of water, sweat, steam, etc. Once the scabbing phase passes, the eyebrows will appear lighter, and their true color should come out after 4-6 weeks. It is also recommended that if you go outside, wear a hat as prolonged sun exposure can be an issue in the healing process. You don’t want your new permanent makeup eyeliner to be damaged by the sun while they are healing. As long as you’re good at following the aftercare instructions provided, there shouldn’t be a problem going to work or being out in public. Note: oily skin is not an issue, as is frequently asked.
HOW LONG DO PMU BROWS LAST?
3D hair stroke eyebrows last 12-18 months for most people before they usually need a touch up. Cosmetic tattoo treatments are considered permanent and will not wash off, though they will fade over time and may need to be refreshed annually. Those who did not follow after care instructions properly may require more frequent touch ups. Combo Brows and Ombre Powder Brows typically last longer at 2-4 years but will still need a touchup every 2-4 years. Keep in mind though that everyone’s skin is different.
IS THIS PROCEDURE PERMANENT?
Because the color is implanted into the upper dermal layer of the skin and cannot be washed off, it is considered permanent. However, the pigment is implanted more superficially than a traditional tattoo, making it fade over time and requiring future touch ups. ***A consultation for all PMU procedures is required to talk about which service is best for your needs and what you’re looking for.
WILL YOU DRAW THE SHAPE ON FIRST?
Yes, we won’t start the procedure on you until you agree with the color selected (expertly matched to your skin tone) and the shape.
IS THE TOUCH-UP APPOINTMENT NECESSARY?
For any PMU brows, at least one follow up appointment is needed 6-8 week after your initial procedure. Touch ups are done no earlier than 4 weeks after your initial procedure and no later than 12. You will be required to schedule this within 8 weeks of your initial procedure. You will be required to pay a fee outlined in the touch-up schedule if it is after 8 weeks. It is absolutely imperative to complete this treatment; at the touch up, we assess the color retention and make adjustments as necessary. Everyone heals differently and at different rates, so if an adjustment is necessary this would be the chance to do so.
WHAT SHOULD I AVOID AFTER MY PROCEDURE?
DO NOT use any Retinols, Glycolic Acids, AHAs, Salicylic acid*
DO NOT use peroxide or Neospirin on ANY areas.
DO NOT scrub or pick the treated areas.
AVOID working out and/or sweating for the first 14 days.
DO NOT expose area to sun or tanning beds for 3-4 weeks after procedure.
DO NOT dye or tweeze eyebrows for 10 days after procedure.
DO NOT use makeup on the eyebrows for at least 14 days.
AVOID sleeping on your face/ brows for 10-14 days
AVOID steam rooms, pools, saunas, hot shower/bath, jacuzzi for at least 10-14 days
*ANY SKINCARE PRODUCTS FOR YOUTH, REPAIR, ANTI-AGING, WRINKLES, ACNE, TONE CORRECTING, BRIGHTENING ARE LIKELY TO HAVE THESE INGREDIENTS
AFTER YOU’VE HEALED
- PMU can last anywhere from 1-4 years depending on the clients lifestyle, skin type and aftercare.
- Exposure to the sun and tanning beds can cause fading and discoloration of the pigment.
- When you are outdoors always apply sunscreen to the the PMU area once completely healed.
- Maintain removal of unwanted brow hair outside of your PMU shape by tweezing, waxing, threading or razoring.
- Do not laser around the PMU area as some lasers can change the color of the pigment.
- Additional makeup application may still be required post PMU to achieve your desired look.
- For further sun protection, wear hats and sunglasses.
- Yearly touch ups are recommended to maintain your results.
PLEASE NOTE: THE RESULTS ARE NATURAL, FULLER LOOKING BROWS OR LIPS. INITIALLY THE BROWS, EYELINER, OR LIPS MAY APPEAR DARKER BUT FADE SIGNIFICANTLY OVER THE FIRST TWO WEEKS. ALTHOUGH WE USE PREMIUM PRODUCTS AND PROVIDE QUALITY SERVICE, ALL CLIENTS HEAL DIFFERENTLY AND MANY FACTORS LEAD TO VARIED RESULTS. IT IS CRUCIAL TO TO HAVE A TOUCH UP DONE AS IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO PREDICT HOW WELL YOUR SKIN WILL RETAIN THE PIGMENTS. DUE TO THIS AND OTHER VARYING FACTORS, WE CANNOT GUARANTEE YOUR RESULTS.
I HAD MY PERMANENT MAKEUP DONE SOMEWHERE ELSE, CAN YOU DO THE TOUCH-UP?
If you have had a PMU tattoo done elsewhere and need a touch up the full service price will be charged as if you are a new client. I will also need to see you for a consultation before hand to see if you are a good candidate for my services. Microblading CANNOT be done as a corrective. At that point you can only choose Combo or Ombre Brow and that will be assessed during your consultation.

YOU’RE TOO EXPENSIVE, I FOUND SOMEONE CHEAPER
Permanent Makeup is an extremely meticulous procedure. Remember, this is your face and it is permanent. Not only has Ashley trained with the top tattoo artists/PMU artists in the world, she has also graduated from the best Micropigmentation school in the USA: Nouveau Contour USA out of Orlando, Florida. Thanks to her skill and passion, she has been named the #1 Permanent Makeup Artist of the year by the Academy of Micropigmentation for 4 years in a row! Not to mention, Ashley Beaulieu is AAM Board Certified & SPCP Accredited since 2020 in Maine, on top of being a fully licensed tattoo artist that uses the highest quality pigments, and she specializes in skincare as a Master Medical Aesthetician. When looking for an artist, do not nickel and dime your face: often times, “professional” artists don’t even have a blood borne pathogens certification. PLEASE research your artists and, more importantly, look at their work before you book an appointment. Paying less cost up front might end up costing you AND your face a lot more in the long run..
